NYICE

The Whittaker lab is part of the NIH/NIAID Centers of Excellence for Influenza Research and Surveillance (CEIRS) network. CEIRS will lay the groundwork for the development of new and improved control measures for emerging and reemerging influenza viruses, including determining the prevalence of avian influenza viruses in animals in close contact with humans, understanding how influenza viruses evolve, adapt and transmit, and identifying immunological factors that determine disease outcome.

Dr. Whittaker’s lab is part of the New York Influenza Center of Excellence (NYICE), based at the University of Rochester Medical School with a research focus on the structure-function the viral hemagglutinin (HA).
