Linear Superposition of Waves

The Principle of Linear Superposition:
When two or more waves are present simultaneously in the same place, the resultant wave is the sum of the individual waves.

When the two waves traveling toward each other meet at the center of their paths the resultant crest has an amplitude equal to that twice of the original waves.
