All the information in this Greenhouse Management horticultural distance learning module is influenced by the Best Management Practices (BMPs) developed by the Cornell-Ithaca BMP Implementation Steering Committee. These BMPs were created to satisfy conditions in Cornell University's New York State Department of Conservation State Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit. These BMP's are specific to the unique teaching/research mission of Cornell's greenhouses and were not meant for the commercial greenhouse industry but the BMP's goal of minimizing the loss of nutrients and pesticides in the greenhouses and reducing greenhouse use of water make the recommendations in the document a valuable resource for any greenhouse grower.
