Justice for Shylock, Law School for Portia

A New York Times article of 27 July 2016 reports that Shylock was recently aquitted on appeal of the charges against him -- and that Portia was sentenced to time in two, not one, law schools.

A five-judge panel meeting in Venice, including SCOTUS Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, resolved to treat the pound of flesh as a "merry sport" and to restore Shylock's property to him and nullify the demand for his conversion to Christianity.

The panel also ruled that Portia would have to attend the University of Padua, then pursue a master of laws degree at Wake Forest University. That ruling was not unanimous. Perhaps some felt that class time in one law school is punishment enough.
