BIOLOGY JOURNAL CLUB FOR UNDERGRADUATES

Cornell University. BioG400-6. 1 credit. (S/U only).

This Biology Journal Club is intended for Biology undergraduates who wish to become familiar with the scientific literature in modern biology by learning to read, analyze, understand, and present summaries of original research papers in biology. Meetings will be held once per week during the regular academic semester. Grades will be based on attendance and upon making one presentation. Papers will be selected by the class participants, and by the undergraduate volunteer teaching assistant. Faculty will be available to give advice and help with the selection and interpretation of papers. The subject matter will cover different fields of biology: neurobiology, development, genetics, molecular biology, botany, and environment and ecology.
