Assignment #4

Jonathan Ochshorn: contact | homepage | fall 2007 index for ARCH 262/562 | past and current indexes for ARCH 367/667

Assigned Sept. 18, 2007
Due: Sept. 25, 2007

1. Dimensioning and line weight exercise: redraw the plan shown below on 11"x17" paper, assuming that the planning grid is on a 4'-0" module. Draw at 1/4"=1'0" scale. Include dimensions for all elements, except those that could be shown on an enlarged plan (but do not draw any enlarged plans). In other words, only dimension the structural and nonstructural walls, as well as the "rough openings" for doors and windows. Include title block, drawing title, and graphic scale. It is not necessary to add any notations (e.g., room names) other than the dimensions themselves and drawing title. Assume that north is "up" and draw north arrow.

2. Continue thinking about final project. Bring in any new conceptual drawings.

3. Reading: National CAD Standard: PDF pages 366 (beginning with "notations") - 371.
