Due: 2 Feb. 2001 Write short (1 or 2 sentence) answers to the following questions, based on the readings assigned. Bush, "The Science of Penetration," The Streamlined Decade 1. Define laminar and turbulent flow. Which type of flow is equivalent to streamlined flow? 2. Cayley derives the ideal shape of an airship from what natural object? 3. D'Arcy Thompson suggests that natural form is explained by the forces acting on it. Give an example of such a form.
Anderson, "Modern Architecture and Industry: Peter Behrens, the AEG, and Industrial Design," Oppositions 1. What was Behrens's first work of industrial design? 2.
