Design an open, covered market by manipulating structural elements according to the procedure outlined below. Work should begin in class, continuing as an out-of-class assignment.

Step 1 (due March 31, 2003):
Build 2-dimensional sectional model using cardboard and string, 1/8" = 1'-0", following the procedure indicated below:

Step 2 (due April 7, 2003):
Bring in revised 2-dimensional sectional model and/or preliminary 3-dimensional model ideas.

Step 3 (due April 14, 2003):
Bring in final (3-dimensional) model, 1/8" = 1'-0".

Note: for those who prefer to work in metric scales: structure dimensions are 24m, 4m high, 5m above the ground; scale is 1:100.
