Due: 12/16/04 (with preliminary presentations each week)

Design a stadium consisting of bleachers with circulation/service space below:

Start by modeling the bleacher structure as a "funicular" form determined by cable analysis. Invert the tension structure, and manipulate segments of the structure according to various principles.

  • 11/8/04 - 2-dimensional sectional study model, cardboard and string, 1/8" = 1'-0" scale.
  • 11/15/04 - revisions of prelimminary 2-d study model; initial 3-d ideas.
  • 11/22/04 - 3-d study model.
  • 11/29/04 - dept. lecture; class to be rescheduled.
  • 12/16/04 - final project due: 9:00 am.
