Course Grading, Fall 1998
  1. [36%] short assignments (6 1-week exercises worth 6% each)
  2. [40%] final project
  3. [24%] choose 1 of the following options:
    • Option 1: Final exam (Dec. 18) consisting of multiple choice, short-answer,
      and sketch problems.
    • Option 2: Instead of taking the final exam, students may base this portion
      of their grade on class attendance. No absences = A+; 1 absence = A;
      2 absences = A-; 3 absences = B+; 4 absences = B; students with 5 or
      more absences must take the final exam. Only students with documented
      (official, written) medical or other university-sanctioned excuses may make
      up missed absences.
