Assign #4: Curtain walls

On one sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" paper, draw a cut-away axonometric of the metal curtain wall - parapet detail shown in Brand, pp.126-127 (on reserve, F.A.L.). You may use the same scale as in the section (approximately 3" = 1'-0", or 1/4 full-size).

Show all construction details as clearly as possible, using the cut-away technique to reveal connections and construction elements that would not otherwise be shown: for example, the clip angle fastening the vertical mullion to the concrete spandrel girder; the various layers of roofing and base flashing; the rigid and batt insulation; the air barrier, parapet sheathing, and wooden studs; the suspended ceiling system; etc.

It is not necessary to label the construction elements. For reference only, examine the mullion detail on page 180 (similar to image below)
